The 2030 World Cup will be the most expansive edition in history, spanning six host nations across three continents. Spain, Portugal and Morocco will stage the bulk of the tournament, while Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will host the opening matches in a centenary tribute to the inaugural 1930 event. Spain is expected to use 11 venues, Morocco six and Portugal three, with the final set for either Spain or Morocco. The format currently mirrors 2026, featuring 48 teams in 12 groups, though FIFA president Gianni Infantino has floated a possible expansion to 64 nations.
