Raul Fernandez finds calm as future nears resolution

Raul Fernandez appears revitalised, both as a rider and as a person, after navigating a turbulent stretch earlier in the season. His Sprint victory at Mugello in late May had been overshadowed by contract anxiety and doubts over his MotoGP future, despite strong on‑track form. But the Spaniard responded with a superb run: another Sprint win and a GP podium at Assen, followed by fifth in the Sachsenring Sprint and third in the main race, achieved despite significant back pain.

This surge has stabilised his prospects, with Trackhouse expected to retain him for 2027‑2028 as a central figure in its growing project. Fernandez admitted after the German round that clarity over his future has freed him mentally and improved his riding.

The tight 2026 standings also keep an outside title shot alive. Sixth overall and 49 points off the lead, Fernandez refuses to rule anything out, balancing ambition with measured caution.
