PSG become France’s favourite club after European triumphs

Paris Saint‑Germain’s back‑to‑back Champions League titles have reshaped their image across France, according to a survey of 1,511 people conducted on June 5. The study shows 67% of French citizens feel PSG makes the country proud, while 77% of viewers supported the team during the May 31 final.

The club’s historic success has elevated its status: 65% now consider PSG one of the greatest teams in French sporting history, and 73% believe it helps France shine internationally. Public perception has also improved emotionally, with 67% holding a positive view of the club and 65% seeing its players as strong role models.

Importantly, 73% regard PSG as a national club rather than one tied only to Paris or Île‑de‑France. When compared with iconic French teams, PSG leads comfortably as the public’s favourite with 43%, ahead of Marseille’s 1990s side and Saint‑Étienne’s 1970s era.
