Luuk de Jong set to leave FC Porto

Luuk de Jong will not continue at FC Porto beyond this season, according to reports in Portugal, with zerozero revealing that the striker has decided to return to the Netherlands due to serious family matters. Although his contract expires at the end of the campaign, both parties held an option to extend the deal for an additional year. De Jong is still recovering from surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in December, an injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the season. As a result, he will not feature again for Porto, having made only seven appearances and scored once. Despite limited involvement, he delivered a decisive moment in the club’s title run, netting the winning goal in the 2‑1 Clássico victory over Sporting in the fourth round of the league.
