PSG close in on Ligue 1 title as Lens chase fades

Paris Saint‑Germain are approaching a decisive moment in the Ligue 1 title race, with several scenarios allowing them to secure the championship as early as Round thirty‑three. Their 2‑2 draw with Lorient kept them six points clear of Lens with only three matches remaining, placing the Parisian club firmly in control.

PSG can clinch the title when they host Brest on May ten, depending on Lens’ result against Nantes two days earlier. A PSG win combined with a Lens draw or defeat would seal the trophy, while a PSG draw would also be enough if Lens lose. The scheduling shift that moved Lens’ match to May eight gives PSG the advantage of playing with full knowledge of their rival’s outcome.

Lens’ recent 1‑1 draw with Nice maintained the gap, with a direct meeting on May thirteen looming should the race continue. PSG also hold a superior goal difference, strengthening their position under Luis Enrique.
