FC Porto coach says Danish midfielder Froholdt is exceeding all expectations

Victor Froholdt continued his outstanding debut season at FC Porto by delivering another decisive performance in the 3–1 away win over Estoril, earning Man of the Match recognition. The 20‑year‑old midfielder, signed from FC Copenhagen last summer, has now featured forty‑four times, contributing seven goals and six assists while becoming a central figure in Porto’s title push. On Sunday he struck the team’s third goal before praising teammate Pepê, insisting the Brazilian deserved the award for his overall display. Froholdt highlighted Porto’s aggressive pressing and strong first half, admitting the side faced tougher spells after the break but executed their game plan with the right mentality. 

Coach Francesco Farioli was equally enthusiastic, saying Froholdt has already exceeded expectations with his rapid adaptation and relentless desire to improve. He praised the youngster’s attitude and attention to detail. Porto return to action on Thursday night for the Europa League quarter‑final second leg against Nottingham Forest.
