Rodríguez recovering well after hospital stay

James Rodríguez is making steady progress after spending 72 hours under medical observation in Minnesota due to a severe dehydration episode, the Colombian Football Federation confirmed. The issue surfaced the day after Colombia’s friendly against France, prompting precautionary hospitalisation to stabilise the midfielder and rule out complications. The FCF stressed the condition is unrelated to injuries or football activity.

According to the latest medical update, Rodríguez is showing “favourable progress and constant improvement,” offering reassurance to both national‑team staff and supporters. Colombia’s medical personnel remain in close contact with Minnesota United to coordinate his recovery plan and determine the next steps.

Rodríguez, who struggled for rhythm during recent defeats to Croatia and France, will stay under supervision for several more days before gradually resuming training. Although no return date has been set, his full recovery is considered essential as Colombia prepare for their upcoming competitive commitments.
