Rassie van der Dussen has officially retired from international cricket, ending a seven‑and‑a‑half‑year spell with the Proteas. The 37‑year‑old confirmed he will continue playing for the Lions while focusing on developing young South African talent. Van der Dussen debuted in 2018 in a T20I against Zimbabwe before quickly establishing himself in ODIs, opening with a composed 93 versus Pakistan. In T20Is, he amassed 1406 runs in 57 appearances, while his Test career featured 905 runs across 18 matches, highlighted by a gritty 98 at the Wanderers. His journey included World Cup campaigns in 2019 and 2023, plus a standout 133 against New Zealand.
