Lazio reveal ambitious plans for new stadium at Stadio Flaminio

Lazio are preparing to leave the Stadio Olimpico and return to their historic home. On Tuesday, the club unveiled plans to renovate the long-abandoned Stadio Flaminio, transforming it into a 50,000-capacity stadium by 2032 and positioning it as a potential venue for Euro 2032, co-hosted by Italy and Turkey.

Like city rivals Roma, Lazio seek a privately owned stadium to fully control operations and revenue, diverging from AC Milan and Inter Milan's joint acquisition of San Siro in 2025.

The project, presented by president Claudio Lotito, aims to breathe new life into a stadium originally built for the 1960 Rome Olympics, where Lazio previously played before moving to the Olimpico.

"We are presenting more than just a stadium; we are presenting a vision," Lotito said. "The Stadio Flaminio renovation concerns not only Lazio but the entire city of Rome. It is a historic site and part of a larger urban system."
