Dutch KNVB Beker draw: PSV to face NEC in Nijmegen, AZ host Telstar

PSV Eindhoven, historically eleven-time KNVB Beker winners, decisively knocked sc Heerenveen out with a commanding 4-1 victory in Eindhoven. Consequently, PSV are now the overwhelming favorites to secure their twelfth domestic cup, especially with heavyweights Ajax and Feyenoord already eliminated.

Third-placed Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen, having dismissed FC Volendam, aims to extend a fairytale campaign by reaching their sixth historic final. Celebrating their 125th anniversary, the club is fiercely hunting their first major trophy. Four-time champions AZ Alkmaar have also successfully advanced, defeating FC Twente 2-1 in an extra-time thriller. Uniquely, the Alkmaar squad remains active across three different competitions, including the UEFA Conference League.

Surprisingly, Telstar has reached the semifinals for the first time since 1992. Although the newly promoted ‘White Lions’ sit at the Eredivisie’s bottom, they shocked title holders Go Ahead Eagles to advance. The anticipated semifinal clashes are scheduled to occur between March 3 and 5.
