No Sepang test sessions for Aldeguer

The 2026 season started poorly for Fermin Aldeguer, last championship's Rookie of the Year. On January 8, while training hard at the Aspar Circuit, the Gresini rider suffered a complex left femur fracture following a very severe crash. He was subsequently discharged from Barcelona’s Hospital Universitari Dexeus after successful surgery.

Since then, the primary uncertainty has concerned the twenty-year-old’s specific recovery timeline and whether he will be fit to start the World Championship opener in Thailand or Brazil. However, his absence from the initial winter tests in Sepang was considered nearly certain. Indeed, Gresini Racing has now officially confirmed via social media the pilot's inability to participate in the upcoming scheduled Malaysian sessions, creating a significant setback for his pre-season preparations as he focuses entirely on physical rehabilitation.
