Flamengo and West Ham agree on Paqueta transfer

Flamengo and West Ham have reached a financial agreement for Lucas Paqueta's transfer back to Brazil, with only the payment details remaining to be finalised. The English club have accepted a €41.25 million fee, with no performance-related bonuses, though negotiations continue over the payment schedule.

According to Brazilian outlet GE, Flamengo propose to pay in instalments over three years, while West Ham prefer full payment within 18 months. Talks are ongoing, with optimism that a compromise—likely a two- to two-and-a-half-year plan—will be reached.

Several factors eased the negotiations. West Ham's recent Premier League victories without Paqueta reduced their resistance, while the midfielder has made clear his intention to leave the club.

The plan is for Paqueta to be available for Flamengo coach Filipe Luis in the Rei Super Cup against Corinthians, should the deal conclude as expected by mid-week.
