Everton monitor Shakhtar defender as free transfer option

Everton are reportedly keeping tabs on Ukrainian right-back Yukhym Konoplya as they look to bolster their defensive options. The 26-year-old's contract with Shakhtar Donetsk expires this summer, making him an attractive target for the Premier League club on a free transfer.

The Toffees have been searching for a new right-back for the past 18 months without success, with injuries and inconsistent performances exposing the need for reinforcements.

Konoplya has featured regularly for Shakhtar Donetsk this season, contributing two goals and four assists in 19 league appearances. He also played a key role for Ukraine at Euro 2024.

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Everton are evaluating the Ukrainian's suitability for their squad and could make a move once his contract expires.

His combination of defensive reliability and attacking threat makes him a high-priority option as the Merseyside outfit seeks to strengthen its back line.
