Real Madrid commenced the year with a dominant 5-1 thrashing of Real Betis in LaLiga, albeit without the presence of Mbappe. The club has now completed the first of two training sessions in the Spanish capital, before their departure for Saudi Arabia.
The Monday session was primarily dedicated to recovery for Sunday's starters, with substitutes undergoing a more intense workout. Positive news for Xabi Alonso emerged with the return of Dean Huijsen to group training, following his recovery from muscle discomfort. He was joined by Dani Carvajal, who is steadily rebuilding his fitness after his first squad call-up in two months.
David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, Fran Garcia, Dani Ceballos, Arda Guler, and Franco Mastantuono also participated in the session, commencing their workout in the gym before transitioning to the pitch. They were joined by a notable contingent of academy players.
