Tim David has been ruled out of remainder of Big Bash League season

Hobart Hurricanes power-hitter Tim David has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the current Big Bash League campaign. Medical scans confirmed that he sustained a significant Grade 2 strain to his right hamstring. Fortunately, the franchise remains optimistic, announcing that David is currently on track to regain full fitness before the T20 World Cup begins on February 7.

The unfortunate injury occurred last Friday, December 26, while David was sprinting between the wickets during a victory over the Perth Scorchers. Following scans on Saturday, the Hurricanes stated his rehabilitation timeline aligns with being available for international selection soon.

Notably, this marks David’s second hamstring setback recently. He previously suffered a similar injury representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the 2025 IPL, forcing him to miss the crucial playoffs and the title-winning final against Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad. His focus now shifts entirely toward recovery for that upcoming global tournament.
