Royals skittled for a record-low 49 as Sunrisers storm to victory at Boland Park

SA20 Season 4 began with visiting teams dominating, epitomized by Sunrisers’ demolition of the Royals at Boland Park. Securing a historic 137-run bonus-point victory, Sunrisers bowled out the hosts for a record-low 49, marking their first-ever opening match win.

Jordan Hermann shined, blasting an unbeaten 62 off 28 deliveries to eclipse his brother and propel the two-time champions to 186/4. His late assault included 22 runs off the final over, capitalizing on a solid foundation laid by Quinton de Kock and Jonny Bairstow.

In response, the Royals collapsed immediately. Sunrisers’ pace trio Marco Jansen, Adam Milne, and especially the returning speedster Anrich Nortje decimated the top order. Nortje, missing for two seasons, claimed 4/13, reducing the hosts to 30/4 in the critical Powerplay.
