Hamilton is "cheating himself" by racing- Ecclestone

Former F1 owner Bernie Ecclestone has cautioned Lewis Hamilton to step away from F1 before something "nasty" befalls the seven-time F1 drivers' champion. The 94-year-old also sent two potential replacements for his countryman at Ferrari, one of whom was a rising Red Bull program star.

Hamilton is "cheating himself" by racing, according to Ecclestone, who oversaw Formula One from the 1970s until 2017, when he sold the championship to its new owners, Liberty Media. The 105-time grand prix champion has had a disappointing and miserable start to life at the Maranello-based team after joining Ferrari from Mercedes during the winter. His despair at the situation reached a zenith at the recent Hungarian Grand Prix, chastising himself as "useless" and suggesting the Scuderia ought to "change driver" after qualifying a lowly P12.
