Nicolò Bertola, an Italy Under-21 international, has been signed by Udinese to replace Jaka Bijol, who will be sold to Leeds United for €22 million plus add-ons. According to several sources, the contract between Udinese and Leeds United, a recently promoted Premier League team, was finalised despite a last-minute attempt by Newcastle United. Bijol has already agreed to personal terms as well, and it is anticipated that she will travel for a medical examination and contract signing within the next 24 to 48 hours.
With add-ons, the deal is valued about €22 million, which represents a significant profit for the Slovenian international, who was acquired from CSKA Moscow in 2022 for €4 million. According to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, Udinese have already found his replacement and it is another investment likely to gain value.
