Bangladesh have received encouraging news regarding Litton Das, whose scans have ruled out any major damage to his hip joint. However, the wicketkeeper-batter’s availability for the upcoming Test series against West Indies remains uncertain as medical staff monitor his recovery.
Litton, sidelined from the ongoing ODI tri-series featuring Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, underwent light physiotherapy on Monday. Bangladesh Cricket Board officials expect to assess his progress over the next few days before determining his status for the Tests.
Meanwhile, off-spinner Nayeem Hasan is scheduled to undergo a fitness assessment on October 22 after sustaining a right hamstring strain against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi. He remains hopeful of receiving clearance to return.
West Indies arrived in Dhaka on October 18 ahead of the two-Test series. The opening match begins October 28 in Dhaka, with the second Test scheduled for November 5 in Sylhet. Bangladesh currently sit fourth in the World Test Championship standings.
