Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has restated the club’s firm belief in its innocence after the Premier League determined that City were guilty of 144 of the 145 alleged financial‑rule breaches. In a statement released on Saturday, Al Mubarak stressed that the process “still has a long way to go” and insisted the club’s determination to clear its name remains unchanged.
His remarks echoed earlier comments made to The Athletic, urging supporters and observers to revisit the club’s official statements from Friday and from February 2023, which he described as “important and true.” City argue they have complied with due process for eight years, trusting the Premier League’s regulatory bodies to act impartially and without external influence.
The club maintains that it supplied extensive documentation and welcomes an independent commission’s review, confident that the evidence presented will ultimately vindicate its position and bring the matter to a definitive conclusion.
