Noffke takes charge of Dutch men’s team

The Netherlands have appointed former Australia international Ashley Noffke as head coach on a two‑year deal running through 2028, marking a significant shift after Ryan Cook’s departure to prioritise family commitments. Noffke’s first mission is guiding the Dutch towards qualification for the 2027 ODI and 2028 T20 World Cups, building on the team’s recent consistency at global tournaments. A seasoned all‑rounder, he represented Australia and enjoyed a long first‑class career across Queensland, Western Australia and four English counties, finishing with 3,766 runs and 386 wickets.

His coaching résumé is equally broad, featuring titles with Brisbane Heat and Queensland Fire, plus London Spirit’s maiden Hundred crown. He also served as Pakistan’s assistant coach and bowling lead in 2025. Noffke emphasised connection as the foundation of his philosophy, a trait KNCB CEO Huib van Walsem believes will strengthen the squad. He praised Cook’s transformative tenure while backing Noffke to build an enduring environment for success.
