Portugal open returns to prestigious DP World Tour In 2027

The historic Open de Portugal is set to return to the elite DP World Tour in 2027, ending a six-year absence from European golf's top division. Scheduled for May 13–16, 2027, the tournament will be hosted at the Oitavos Dunes Links Golf in Cascais, which previously held the event four times between 2005 and 2009.Founded in 1953, this prestigious national open was part of the inaugural European Tour calendar in 1972. DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings confirmed the news during the upcoming season's schedule announcement.

Meanwhile, the current 64th edition takes place this week at PGA Aroeira 1 in Almada. Operating under the second-tier Challenge Tour, it features a 300,000 euro prize fund and 144 players, including ten Portuguese golfers.
