French winger Moussa Diaby returns to Leverkusen until 2031 from Al Ittihad

Moussa Diaby has completed a return to Bayer Leverkusen, signing a contract until 2031 after leaving Saudi club Al Ittihad. The German champions confirmed the move on Tuesday, bringing back the 27‑year‑old winger who previously spent four successful seasons at the BayArena. According to Bild, Leverkusen paid around 27 million euros to secure his comeback. Diaby said he accepted immediately once the opportunity arose, stressing that the club’s ambitions have grown and that competing for titles is now central to his goals.

During his first spell, the former Paris Saint‑Germain academy product scored 31 goals and delivered 37 assists in 125 Bundesliga appearances, earning 11 caps for France in the process. Aston Villa signed him for 55 million euros in 2023 but sold him a year later to Al Ittihad. After missing out on the Champions League last season, Leverkusen view Diaby as a key addition to strengthen their attacking depth.
