Chelsea have completed the signing of 19‑year‑old winger Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP, securing him on a contract through 2034. The Portuguese talent arrives at Stamford Bridge after a rapid rise in Lisbon, where he played a key role in Sporting’s league and cup triumphs in former season.
Quenda said he was “proud to be part of this club,” noting Chelsea’s commitment to developing young players. His résumé already includes major milestones: he was named Primeira Liga Young Player of the Season in 2025, made 86 senior appearances in two years, became Sporting’s youngest‑ever goalscorer and the youngest Portuguese player to score in the Champions League.
A regular for Portugal’s Under‑21s, he also earned a place in the Team of the Tournament at the 2025 European Under‑21 Championship. Chelsea begin their Premier League campaign on August 24 away to Fulham, where Quenda could make his first competitive appearance.
