Mehidy targets ODI reset as Bangladesh chase World Cup momentum

Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz believes the team have moved on from their heavy innings defeat in the Harare Test as they prepare for a three‑match ODI series starting July 6. Speaking to reporters, Mehidy said the setback was “in the past” and stressed that conditions in Zimbabwe remain challenging despite Bangladesh’s strong recent Test form at home.

He framed the ODIs as a crucial step toward the 2027 World Cup, which Zimbabwe will co‑host with South Africa and Namibia. Mehidy highlighted improved preparation over recent training sessions, praising both batting and bowling groups for adapting quickly to local conditions.

The captain emphasised the importance of surviving the new ball and building partnerships, noting Zimbabwe’s strength at home. He also welcomed the strong local support, hoping it lifts both sides.
