Caleb Wilson sets sights on Rookie of the Year

Caleb Wilson wasted no time outlining his ambitions during his introductory press conference, declaring that he intends to win Rookie of the Year in his debut season with the Chicago Bulls. The 20‑year‑old power forward, drafted fourth overall, spoke with striking confidence, insisting the franchise is the ideal environment to maximise his skill set. Born in Atlanta and raised in North Carolina, Wilson said he aims not just for a strong career but to become one of basketball’s all‑time greats, arguing that stating goals openly is the first step toward achieving them.

Wilson also downplayed draft rankings, expressing eagerness to face fellow top prospects AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson and Cameron Boozer in the Las Vegas Summer League. Looking ahead to the regular season, he voiced enthusiasm for Chicago’s rebuilding project and believes the roster can grow quickly. He hopes to assume leadership responsibilities immediately and help return the Bulls to NBA prominence.
