Forest star Anderson to join Man City for British record fee

Manchester City have reportedly agreed a deal worth up to £130 million to sign England midfielder Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, a figure that would set a new British transfer record. According to the BBC and Press Association, the fee surpasses the £125 million Liverpool paid for Alexander Isak last year. Forest had rejected two previous bids, but City persisted as Anderson impressed during England’s World Cup campaign.

The 23‑year‑old, currently in the United States with the national team, has started both group matches and insisted he remains focused solely on England. Manager Thomas Tuchel described him as the “full package” and expressed confidence that transfer speculation would not distract him.

City, runners‑up to Arsenal last season but winners of both domestic cups, view Anderson as a key addition for their midfield rebuild. Forest, who finished 16th after a late surge, now face losing one of their standout performers.
