Cucurella targets Chelsea exit as Barcelona ponder €50m move

Marc Cucurella is pushing for a departure from Chelsea, with a return to Barcelona emerging as his preferred option as the club reshapes its squad under Xabi Alonso. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Spaniard believes his cycle in London is over and is prioritising a move back to the Camp Nou despite interest from several major European clubs. Chelsea are prepared to negotiate but value him between forty and fifty million euros, confident his World Cup performances with Spain could further boost his market appeal.

Barcelona are monitoring the situation closely. Hansi Flick views Cucurella as an ideal reinforcement for a defence that has lacked stability, though his arrival could complicate the development of Alejandro Balde, forcing sporting director Deco into a difficult decision. Competition for Cucurella remains strong, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and especially Atletico Madrid attentive, while the player plans to decide only after the World Cup.
