Pavard confirms Marseille departure after one‑season loan

Benjamin Pavard has confirmed he is leaving Marseille after completing his season‑long loan from Inter Milan. The French defender announced his departure on social media, saying that wearing the Marseille shirt had been a meaningful chapter in both his career and personal life. Pavard thanked the club, staff and teammates, adding that he always tried to represent OM with commitment and respect.

The 30‑year‑old World Cup winner arrived last summer with an option to buy, but after a bright start his performances dipped, and he was loudly whistled by supporters during Sunday’s match against Rennes, his final appearance of the season. Pavard made 37 appearances in total. Marseille finished fourth in Ligue 1 on 59 points, securing a place in the third qualifying round of next season’s Champions League. His exit marks another step in the club’s summer reshaping as they prepare for a crucial European campaign.
