Slovan Bratislava are considering a sensational move for Yaya Touré as they search for a new head coach following the departure of Vladimir Weiss Sr., according to Slovak outlet ŠPORT.sk. The club’s general director, Ivan Kmotrik Jr., has denied links to Zsolt Hornyak and Tomas Janotka, but confirmed that discussions with selected candidates are underway and that a decision is expected within two weeks.
Touré’s name surfaced on the programme Okom Odbornika and was later backed by the podcast Bavme Sa O Lige, with behind‑the‑scenes reports indicating that negotiations have taken place. The Ivorian enjoyed a decorated playing career with Barcelona and Manchester City, though his coaching path is still in its early stages, featuring assistant roles in Ukraine, Russia, Belgium and with Saudi Arabia’s national team. Despite Touré’s profile, Slovak media suggest the leading contender remains Croatian coach Igor Biscan, who has been in contact with Slovan since December.
