Official: Real Madrid announce Carvajal's departure

Real Madrid have bid an emotional farewell to Dani Carvajal, marking the end of a remarkable career that spanned more than two decades and defined one of the club’s brightest eras. The 34‑year‑old academy graduate, who famously laid the first stone at Valdebebas, departs after the renewal he hoped for failed to materialise, with a recent knee injury limiting his ability to compete at the highest level. Carvajal struggled to regain consistency following his recovery and featured only fourteen times this season, starting four matches, as neither Xabi Alonso nor Alvaro Arbeloa placed sustained trust in him.

In their announcement, Real Madrid hailed him as one of the club’s greatest legends, highlighting his six European Cups and twenty‑seven trophies across 450 appearances. Florentino Pérez praised Carvajal as a symbol of the academy and its values. The club will honour him with a special tribute during the final league match at the Santiago Bernabéu.
