Bonga set for NBA return as Pistons move to bring him back

Isaac Bonga appears close to ending his EuroLeague spell, with Serbian outlet Meridian Sport reporting that the Detroit Pistons have convinced him the time is right to return to the NBA. No formal agreement has been signed, but momentum strongly suggests a departure from Partizan Mozzart Bet. The 24‑year‑old forward is said to view Detroit’s project as the ideal next step, especially after four seasons in Europe that helped him mature tactically and mentally while surpassing one hundred EuroLeague appearances.

Although Bonga is under contract in Belgrade until 2027, his future depends entirely on him. He can activate an exit clause worth roughly $875,000, a mechanism long discussed after Partizan rejected multiple NBA approaches during the season. Reports indicate the clause is expected to be triggered on 20 July, immediately after the Las Vegas Summer League. That move would clear the way for Bonga to resume his NBA career, adding to his previous 148 games with the Lakers, Wizards and Raptors.
