Injured Salah to miss rest of Liverpool season, says Egypt director Hassan

Mohamed Salah will miss the remainder of Liverpool’s season after suffering a hamstring injury in the 3‑1 win over Crystal Palace, according to Egypt team director Ibrahim Hassan. The forward, who has already confirmed he will leave the Premier League champions at the end of the campaign, limped off on the hour mark and applauded the Anfield crowd as he departed. Liverpool have not issued an official update, but Hassan told Reuters that Salah has torn his hamstring and faces four weeks of treatment, ruling him out of the club’s final fixtures.

Salah’s nine‑season journey with Liverpool will therefore conclude without another appearance, though he is expected to address supporters after the finale against Brentford. The club’s third‑highest scorer has registered twelve goals and nine assists this season. Hassan added that Salah will be fit for the 2026 World Cup, with the forward determined to avoid a repeat of the injury setback that hampered him before the 2018 tournament.
