Italy suffices with seven European seats next season

Italy will have only seven clubs in European competitions next season after the final allocation was confirmed. As reported by Football Italia, Serie A receives four Champions League spots, two Europa League places and one berth in the Europa Conference League.

The outcome follows the complete elimination of Italian teams from Europe: Bologna fell to Aston Villa in the Europa League, while Fiorentina were knocked out of the Conference League by Crystal Palace. With no sides left, Italy cannot improve its coefficient or gain an additional place through a European trophy. It is now certain that only four Italian clubs will enter the Champions League in 2026–27. Fifth and sixth in Serie A will qualify for the Europa League alongside the Coppa Italia winner, while one team enters the Conference League qualifiers. The Coppa Italia result may still adjust the final distribution.
