Kylian Mbappé’s fitness has become a renewed concern for Real Madrid after the French striker skipped the club’s latest training session, raising fresh doubts ahead of a crucial Champions League night. Since joining the Spanish giants in 2024, Mbappé has already endured several physical setbacks, including two thigh injuries in his debut season and a bout of gastroenteritis that ruled him out of the opening matches of the 2025 Club World Cup.
This campaign he has battled persistent knee discomfort, which eventually led to a short spell on the sidelines from December 31 to January 9 before returning in the Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona. His latest absence, however, is unrelated to those issues. Reports indicate he required stitches above his eyebrow after the match against Girona and felt some discomfort afterwards. Despite missing training, Mbappé is still expected to be available for today’s Champions League return leg against Bayern Munich.
