Galatasaray star Osimhen breaks arm, Lang set for thumb surgery in Liverpool

Galatasaray confirmed on Thursday that Victor Osimhen fractured his right forearm during their Champions League defeat to Liverpool, dealing a major setback to the Nigerian striker’s impressive European campaign. The club stated that the injury has been immobilised in a cast, with doctors set to decide in the coming days whether surgery is required. No timeline has yet been given for his return, though Osimhen had scored seven Champions League goals this season. 

His replacement, Dutch international Noa Lang, also failed to finish the match. The winger suffered a deep cut to his right thumb after colliding with an advertising board and will undergo surgery in Liverpool. 

The injuries compounded a difficult night for Galatasaray, who fell 4–0 at Anfield in the second leg of their last‑16 tie, losing 4–1 on aggregate. Liverpool now advance to face defending champions Paris Saint‑Germain in the quarter‑finals.
