Inter Miami owner reveals historic ambition

Jorge Mas, owner of the American club Inter Miami, revealed the club’s next major goal after winning the MLS title, which is to strive for participation in the Copa Libertadores, the most prestigious club competition in South America.

Mas confirmed that he has already begun official talks with the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), specifically with its president Alejandro Domínguez, to discuss the possibility of Inter Miami participating in the tournament, based on historical precedents where Mexican clubs took part in the competition in previous years.

Inter Miami's owner clarified that his desire to participate in the Copa Libertadores is not new, noting that he has expressed it both publicly and within the circles of Major League Soccer. He believes that the champions of MLS and Liga MX deserve spots in the continent's biggest tournament in South America.
