Shakib Al Hasan is scheduled to make his T201 comeback

A few weeks before the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 gets underway, Bangladesh's top spin-bowling all-round player Shakib Al Hasan is scheduled to make his T201 comeback after a ten-month absence. Shakib has been selected for Bangladesh's squad for the last two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) against Zimbabwe. Shakib last played a T201 in July 2023 during a home series against Afghanistan. In the five-match series, Bangladesh had a 3-0 advantage against Zimbabwe.

The team is greatly aided by Shakib's return to the T201 roster as they get ready for the Men's T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the US. Shakib is one of the few players who have participated in every tournament edition to date. He did so in the event's debut edition in 2007. He will be the most seasoned player on the team if he is chosen.
