West Ham made an early approach to sign Wesley Gassova

According to a writer for the Evening Standard, West Ham has "started negotiations" with the young talent ahead of the summer transfer window in an attempt to beat off a number of other elite teams for the £26 million-rated kid. Wesley's signing is tricky since his representation control 30% of the player's rights and Corinthians possess 70%. The Hammers are vying for Wesley's services with Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, and Real Betis.

Wesley's acquisition by the Hammers may be the first element in a completely new puzzle as Julen Lopetegui attempts to make his mark at the London Stadium. According to reports, the Spaniard has agreed to take over as the team's manager from David Moyes. Signing Wesley, a highly regarded winger, would undoubtedly demonstrate to Hammers supporters that the manager is eager to play offensive football.
