Mumbai Indians’ seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad

With his second IPL century, Suryakumar hammered 102 not out off 51 balls, leading his team to a decisive victory in 17.2 overs. After recovering, SRH was up to 173 for eight. With the victory, Mumbai Indians moved up to the ninth position in the standings, while SRH, who had lost, was still in fourth place with 12 points from 11 games.

Suryakumar and Tilak Varma (37 not out off 32) joined forces during the powerplay as MI was reeling at 31 for three. They produced a stunning comeback with a 143-run unbroken stand to plot a comfortable victory. In his amazing knock, Suryakumar hit six sixes and twelve fours.  In fact, if a ball from experienced seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the fifth over had not been placed beyond the leg stump, pinning Varma in front of the wickets, MI may have been reduced to 31/4.
